October Updates: Here, there and everywhere in community.

Rotarians were out in force at the Highland Gathering in Armadale.

Our volunteers were out in force to assist with the Quiet Zone for the City of Armadale's Highland Gathering event. The Quiet Zone is part of the City's inclusion initiatives to create a space for people with disability and their families to rest and reset during all of the excitement of the event.

End Polio Now - The Travellers Fundraiser

This month we also hosted an End Polio Now fundraiser with an early screening of The Travellers.

This not only was a great way to raise some much-needed funds towards ending Polio, but it also brought our community together to enjoy a story filmed here in Western Australia.

Thanks to Anthony and Verity for shaking the can on the night to raise a few more dollars towards End Polio Now!

Sausage Sizzle fundraising at the Kelmscott Show.

We also were out and about at the Kelmscott Show for both days selling sausage sizzles and drinks to community. This opportunity was a great way to raise more money for our local and international projects.

All up selling 642 sausages and 326 drinks to our community.

Even our exchange student Amanda has picked up that we love selling sausages to raise funds in community and was happy to help us out.

Thank you to everyone who got involved with organising, cutting onions, cooking sausages and serving customers. As always, these events are a full club effort, and we all come together to show our strength in community.

Morning Tea for Teachers

Morning tea for teachers is one of our newest projects and in its second year now with Kelmscott Senior High.

As a club of many educators retired and practicing, we like to recognise the hard work that teachers do within our communities.

Teachers were thrilled with the selection of cakes, scones, sausage rolls, sandwiches and more that were available to them, and we saw almost 100 teachers attend and enjoy a morning tea with us.

The month ahead
The next month will see us at the Piara Waters community markets for a plant sale to raise funds for community projects on Sunday 2nd of November.

As well as our Phil Phillips Scholarship night and our Girls Youth Leadership Project towards the end of the month.

The best way to follow us in through a Facebook page or by subscribing to this very newsletter!
