November Newsletter - A focus on youth programs.

Rotarians were out for an evening of spooky volunteering.

At the end of October, we supported our friends at Business Armadale with their Halloween markets. We helped support with parking, general events management and a pair of hands where required.

Many of our Rotarians dressed up on the day to get in the theme while we shared more about Rotary with our community.

Plant Sale Fundraiser

This month we also held a plant sale to raise some much-needed funds for our community programs.

We got so close to selling out with a rush at the end of the day.

Thank you to Anne for organising and donating many of her own plants for the sale, along with other Rotarians who generously donated their time or plants as well.

Phil Philips Scholarships

Phil Philips was a long standing Rotarian and teacher within our community who left a bequest to Rotary Armadale to continue supporting students within the local community with their educational costs.

This month saw four scholarships awarded to students from local high schools to go towards their educational endeavours.

The students shared their aspirations for future careers with hopes to enter vocational industries working in mechanics, fabrication and physiotherapy. These young people are most definitely on their way to success in their futures.

Girls Leadership Program

Our successful youth leadership program took on a new challenge this month with a girl's leadership program.

The program aimed to empower girls to build their confidence, create connection and learn about leadership in a supportive environment.

With the support of Rotarians Amy, Gail, Verity and Anne, along with friend of Rotary Michelle and our exchange student Amanda, the girls had many different leaders to learn from and engage with.

Rotary Youth Exchange - 4 months in.

Rotary Youth Exchange student Amanda has been with our club for 4 months now.
Amanda has experienced many things while in Australia and is enjoying the weather as it warms up.

Amanda has travelled to the South West recently with the exchange program and camped out under the stars.
She has also been involved with many Rotary programs and has tried many different volunteering roles.

70 years of Armadale Rotary

This month will see Rotary Armadale celebrate 70 years of service to community.
We welcome old friends to join us for a celebration and reflection of the time we have spent giving back to the Armadale community.
