Fun at Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
Our club were out in force at the RYLA dinner, enjoying entertainment and a meal with other Rotarians and the young leaders who enjoyed their week at camp.
Quiet Zone at Australia Day
Another month and another opportunity to provide Quiet Zones at major events in Armadale.
The City of Armadale invited us to host the Quiet Zone at their Australia Day celebrations. This continues to be a space for some quiet in very busy community events for those who require time to rest and reset before having more fun.
Amy was on hand with some ear defenders when the fireworks started to make sure everyone could enjoy the experience without overwhelm from the noise.

At City of Armadale's Citizenship Ceremony, the Rotary Club of Armadale was recognised with two nominations for community citizens of the year. Past President Anthony was nominated for Community Citizen of the Year and the club itself received a community group nomination.
While we didn't take away the win, it is important to us to continue to be recognised within community for all the good we do and continue to build our visibility within the community.
Rotary Youth Exchange - Ella returns to Australia
Outbound Rotary Youth Exchange student Ella returns to Australia after a year in Italy.
Our outbound student Ella has returned to Australia and shared with our club about her year overseas in Italy.
Ella has become more confident in her Italian and says she's practically fluent now. She also learned more about agriculture, Italian customs and has built her confidence with her year away. Ella is ready to get back to Australian life now, although is tempted by university study back in Europe and is exploring her options.
Either way we know Ella will continue to do great things wherever she is in the world.
Rotary Youth Exchange - Australian Summer
Rotary Youth Exchange student Amanda is now on the tail end of her exchange. Coming to the end of her summer holidays, she has had three months of summer and new experiences.
Amanda has enjoyed recently going to Caversham and feeding Kangaroo's for the first time. Amanda has expressed if she could have one as a pet she would, although I'm not sure they'd enjoy the Norwegian climate much.
Amanda's first time feeding Kangaroo's.
The month ahead
The next month will see us discussing our latest overseas project and how we support the printing of 3D limbs for those in need within the Ukraine. Along with planning for Clean Up Australia Day in March and the last of our series of Youth Leadership Project for the moment.
