GEOFF & GRAHAM DEFT HANDS WITH SAUSAGE SIZZLE AT PIARA WATERS PRIMARY SCHOOL BREAKFAST FOR DADS.

Our Youth Director, Past President (Assistant Governor) Graham Sampson and our Treasurer, Past President Geoff Woodard, were delighted to provide our club barbecue trailer and and their cooking skills this week to assist Chaplain John Ryder and the P&C Association volunteers to provide a hearty breakfast for around 300 dads and some mums as well.

Over a period of time, Chaplain John has been positively connecting with the dads of some of the primary school children, helping them to develop greater father-child bonding. The school was originally working with David Walker and the Fathering Project, which our club has been supporting. However, due to some school funding cuts, they had not continued with the programme. Not wanting to lose the goodwill and “mateship” that had been built with the dads, John and the school’s Parents & Citizens Association reached out to the Rotary Club of Armadale to assist with the use of our BBQ trailer and world-famous culinary skills.

Geoff and Graham were kept extremely busy, but with typical Rotary commitment, they loved being able to assist in this very worthwhile community project.
